In-Depth Review
The Ethical Alternative to Rawhide
Earth Animal No-Hide Stix offer a revolutionary solution for pet parents concerned about the choking hazards and chemical processing associated with traditional rawhide. Founded by Dr. Bob and Susan Goldstein, Earth Animal focuses on a holistic approach to pet wellness. These chews are hand-rolled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, using just seven clean ingredients, ensuring that your dog is not consuming bleach, formaldehydes, or synthetic glues common in the leather-industry byproduct known as rawhide.
The sourcing story behind No-Hide is what sets it apart. As a Certified B Corp, Earth Animal maintains strict standards for animal welfare and environmental impact. Their chicken is sourced from humanely raised birds, and the manufacturing process utilizes solar energy at their primary production facilities. Unlike mass-market treats, No-Hide is formulated to be highly digestible, reducing the risk of internal blockages.
| Ingredient | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Humanely Raised Chicken | Primary Protein Source |
| Brown Rice Flour | Binding & Carbohydrate |
| Organic Eggs | Protein & Texture |
| Bromelain (Pineapple) | Digestive Enzyme |
Packaging for Earth Animal products is increasingly moving toward post-consumer recycled materials, and the brand is a vocal member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition. By choosing these chews, you are supporting a brand that actively reinvests 1% of its annual sales into environmental and social causes through its partnership with 1% for the Planet.
"I was always terrified of rawhide after a scare with my Lab. These No-Hides last a good amount of time and I feel so much better knowing they actually digest like food." — Verified Dog Owner
Important Note
Always supervise your pet during chewing sessions. While No-Hides are highly digestible, they should be size-appropriate for your dog to prevent them from attempting to swallow large pieces whole.
In terms of value, while No-Hide Stix carry a premium price tag compared to supermarket treats, the cost reflects the quality of sourcing and the safety testing involved. For dogs with sensitive stomachs or those prone to heavy chewing, the peace of mind offered by a clean-label chew is invaluable.
