Frequently asked questions

Can budget products really be ethical?+

Yes. Certification costs sit at brand level, not per product, so B Corp, Fair Trade and Leaping Bunny brands routinely sell entry-tier items under $25. What usually changes at lower prices is pack size, packaging finish or material rarity — not the ethics of how it was made.

How are the price bands defined?+

Each band groups products whose typical retail price falls at or below that ceiling. Prices move, so we band rather than quote exact figures, and every listing links through to the current retailer price.

Are cheaper picks scored differently?+

No. Every product uses the same 0–100 ethics score across certifications, ingredients, sourcing, packaging and brand record. Price only filters the list; it never adjusts the score.
