In-Depth Review
The Standard for Ethical Canine Nutrition
Open Farm's Freeze Dried Raw Harvest Chicken recipe is designed for pet parents who refuse to compromise between convenience and high-integrity sourcing. Unlike traditional kibble, this freeze-dried formula preserves the nutritional density of raw ingredients while ensuring safety and ease of use. It is ideal for dogs with sensitive stomachs or those who require a high-protein diet to maintain muscle mass.
Formulation and Material Quality
The primary ingredient is GAP Step 4 humanely raised chicken, meaning the birds are raised with access to pasture and without the use of antibiotics or growth hormones. The recipe is balanced with non-GMO organic leafy greens and antioxidant-rich superfoods like blueberries and cranberries. Every batch is tested by a third-party lab for pathogens like salmonella and e. coli before it leaves the facility.
| Ingredient Type | Source Quality | Function | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicken Meat & Bones | Humanely Raised / GAP Step 4 | High-quality protein and calcium | |
| Organic Squash | Non-GMO / Pesticide Free | Fiber for digestive health | |
| Leafy Greens | Organic Spinach & Kale | Essential vitamins K and A |
Traceability and Sourcing Story
Open Farm stands out in the pet industry for its industry-leading transparency. Every bag features a unique lot code that allows owners to visit the brand's website and trace the origin of every single ingredient back to the specific farm. This ensures that no hidden fillers or factory-farmed meats enter the supply chain. The brand prioritizes regenerative agriculture practices where possible, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of pet ownership.
"I finally feel confident knowing exactly where my dog's food comes from. The transparency tool on their site showed me the specific poultry farm in Canada. My Golden Retriever's coat has never been shinier!" — Verified Buyer
