In-Depth Review
Professional Grade Cleaning Without the Toxicity
Maintaining a vehicle often involves harsh solvents, degreasers, and chemicals that are harmful to both the user and the local water table. Greased Lightning has formulated a multi-purpose cleaner that challenges the necessity of toxic surfactants. This formula is designed to cut through engine grease, brake dust, and interior grime while maintaining a biodegradable profile that is safer for home garage use.
Performance Meets Responsibility
Many 'green' cleaners fail when faced with baked-on engine grease. Greased Lightning uses a proprietary blend of surfactants that break the molecular bond of oils without relying on ammonia or bleach. This makes it an ideal tool for 'engine bay detailing' where runoff often enters storm drains. By choosing a biodegradable formula, DIY mechanics can significantly reduce their chemical footprint.
| Application | Dilution Level |
|---|---|
| Engine Degreasing | Full Strength |
| Chrome/Wheels | 50/50 Water Mix |
| Cloth Seats | 1:10 Dilution |
This product is certified Cruelty-Free, ensuring that no automotive chemical testing was performed on animals, a rarity in the heavy-duty degreaser category.
- Non-flammable formula for safer storage.
- Works on grease, grime, and even blood or grass stains.
- Concentrated formula reduces plastic waste through dilution.
"Greased Lightning proves that you don't need to choose between a clean engine and a clean conscience." - DIY Auto Hub
While the brand is a larger commercial entity, their commitment to the EPA Safer Choice program indicates a roadmap toward better chemical transparency. This cleaner replaces up to five specific automotive chemicals, simplifying your shelf and reducing the total number of plastic bottles purchased over a vehicle's lifetime.
