In-Depth Review
A Legacy of Balkan Craftsmanship
While many luxury board games rely on exotic, endangered tropical hardwoods, Manopoulos has pivoted to utilize the abundant and sustainable Oak and Walnut forests of the Balkan Peninsula. This set is handcrafted in their workshop by master woodworkers, many of whom have been with the company for decades. The brand has recently gained recognition for its progressive hiring practices in the Mediterranean region, actively recruiting from marginalized queer communities in the arts.
Purity for the Conscious Home
This set is an ideal choice for the whole-food purist. Unlike cheap plastic sets or particle-board alternatives, this is solid wood finished with natural oils. There are no plastic coatings, no microplastic shedding, and no off-gassing. The weight of the oak pieces provides a grounding, tactile experience that aligns with a minimalist and naturalistic lifestyle.
- Hand-inlaid wood marquetry (no printed patterns).
- Solid brass hardware for longevity.
- Storage slots lined with natural felt.
"We don't make toys; we make heirlooms that respect the forest they came from."
