In-Depth Review
The Last Water Bottle Your Child Will Need
The Pura Stainless Kiki is a revolutionary entry in the kids' hydration category, designed with a "One Life... One Bottle" philosophy. Most children's bottles are discarded as the child outgrows the spout style, but the Kiki uses a modular system. The 9oz vacuum-insulated base remains the same while you swap out the top from a silicone nipple to a sippy spout, then a straw, and eventually a Big Mouth® sport top. This longevity makes it one of the most sustainable choices for families looking to reduce consumption.
Unmatched Safety: 100% Plastic-Free
Pura distinguishes itself as the only bottle brand globally to achieve the MADESAFE® certification and the Plastic Free Certified™ status. While other 'stainless' bottles still use plastic lids or internal linings, Pura uses only food-grade #304 stainless steel and medical-grade silicone. This eliminates any risk of BPA, BPS, or phthalate leaching, even when filled with warm liquids or acidic juices. The vacuum insulation keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours, which is a major win for summer outings.
| Feature | Pura Kiki Stainless Steel |

Ethical Sourcing and Durability
Pura is a family-owned business that focuses on heavy-duty construction. The bottles feature a colorful silicone sleeve that provides a tactile grip for small hands and protects the steel from dents. By creating a product that lasts a decade rather than a season, Pura actively combats the 'throwaway' culture prevalent in the baby industry. Their commitment to the environment extends to their shipping practices, using minimal, recyclable cardboard packaging.
"I've bought dozens of bottles that ended up in the back of the cabinet because the plastic lid cracked or the straw got moldy. The Pura is different. It's easy to clean, impossible to break, and I love that my toddler can't chew through the silicone straw." — Verified Buyer, Austin, TX
Important Note
Because these bottles are made of high-quality stainless steel and lack plastic internal valves, they are not 'leak-proof' if shaken upside down or left lying on their side with the straw open. They are designed for upright use in cup holders or backpacks.
Value and Versatility
At approximately $25-$30, the initial investment is higher than a plastic sippy cup. However, when you calculate the cost of buying four separate stages of bottles as a child ages, the Pura Kiki saves significant money over three years. It is a premium product designed for those who value health, durability, and a plastic-free lifestyle.
Pros
- ✓Completely plastic-free construction
- ✓Grows with the child via modular lids
- ✓Excellent temperature retention
Cons
- ✗Not 100% spill-proof if left on side
- ✗Heavier than plastic or aluminum alternatives
