Brand claims checker

Heard that a brand is "cruelty-free" or "never had a recall"? Pick the brand, type the claim, and see whether our fact-check corrected or removed it, and which sources we used.

How it works

Your words are compared with the sentences we corrected during the audit. A match appears when most of the meaningful words in your claim also appear in a recorded claim, so short, specific claims work best.

Compare two brands' full records on the brand comparison page.

Frequently asked questions

What does the claims checker search?+

Our audit records: every correction made when we fact-checked 55 brand profiles line by line against company sites, regulator and court records and news reports.

What do the ratings mean?+

'Inaccurate — corrected' means reliable sources showed different facts and we rewrote the sentence. 'Unsupported — removed' means we found no reliable source and deleted it. 'No correction on record' means the claim did not match any corrected sentence.

Does 'no correction on record' mean the claim is true?+

No. It only means our audit did not correct a sentence like it. The claim may be true, untested, or worded differently from anything in our records.

How do I report a mistake?+

Use the corrections contact on our press page and include a source link.
