Frequently asked questions
Is sustainable palm oil good enough?+
RSPO-certified segregated palm is a meaningful improvement over conventional palm, but mass-balance and 'book & claim' labels do not guarantee deforestation-free supply. Palm-free is the strictest option.
How do I spot hidden palm oil?+
More than 200 ingredient names derive from palm — sodium lauryl sulfate, stearic acid, glyceryl stearate, cetyl alcohol and vegetable oil are common examples. Brands that are genuinely palm-free usually say so explicitly.
