Food-Grade Silicone
Durable, inert alternative to single-use plastic — but not biodegradable.
What it is
Silicone is a synthetic polymer built on a silicon–oxygen backbone made from quartz sand. Platinum-cured, food-grade silicone contains no fillers and is stable across a very wide temperature range.
Why it matters
It replaces cling film, sandwich bags and disposable bakeware with something that lasts years and doesn't leach the way soft plastics can. It is not compostable and almost never accepted kerbside, so lifespan is the whole argument.
