Long-life, highly recyclable alloy that displaces single-use plastic.
What it is
Stainless steel is iron alloyed with chromium (and often nickel) for corrosion resistance. Food-grade 304 and 316 are the grades used in bottles, cookware and containers.
Why it matters
Production is energy-intensive, but the material lasts decades and is recycled at very high rates — over 85% globally. Impact per year of use falls fast the longer you keep it, which makes it a strong reusable choice.
