Recycled Glass
Cullet-based glass that melts at lower temperature and recycles endlessly.
What it is
Recycled glass ('cullet') is crushed post-consumer glass remelted into new containers. Every 10% of cullet in the furnace cuts melting energy by roughly 2–3% and reduces raw sand, soda ash and limestone extraction.
Why it matters
Glass is one of the few genuinely closed-loop packaging materials — infinitely recyclable without quality loss. Its weakness is weight: shipping glass long distances can outweigh the material benefit.
